Hello! I'm Madison, Chef and Owner of Star Light Moon Light. I grew up in Quincy, IL where my grandparents had a 40 acre farm. Here I learned about agriculture, pie making, biology, mushroom hunting, card playing, woodworking, sustainability, pickling, and warm hospitality. Everything I learned in my childhood has influenced Star Light Moon Light (the name of a hide and seek game my cousins and I played at the farm). I went to Chicago for culinary school and have worked and staged in places like Seattle, Killarney, Adelaide, London, and Philly.
Star Light Moon Light is an attempt of a recreation of my idyllic time on the farm. I grow as much as our own produce as I can and then source hyper locally and hyper intentionally there after. The menus are designed from the harvest of the garden and the eggs our chickens produce. The restaurant is wood fired, the garden is au naturale, the inn is small, clean, and simple, the shop has a few of our preserves and fresh veggies to take home.
Come in for brunch or dinner. We are an a la carte with occasional tasting menu nights. We are also available for private parties and community events. Come out and see what we are about!
